Frequently asked questions
About Propét
How long has Propét been around?
Propét has been making footwear since 1985, starting with a mission to create quality shoes for hard-to-fit feet. More than 40 years on, we still focus on shoes that fit comfortably from the first wear, without pinching or slipping.
Who distributes Propét in Australia?
Propét is distributed in Australia by SF Brands, an Australian family-owned footwear company founded in Melbourne in 1982. SF Brands is also home to Surefit and REVA. Buying from Propét Australia means local stock, local delivery and a local customer service team.
Can I try Propét shoes on in store?
You can shop the full Australian range online at propetaustralia.com.au. Selected Propét styles are also available through stockists. Visit our Stockists page to find one near you, and call ahead to check what they have in stock.
Sizing and fit
How do I find the right size?
Most Propét styles fit true to size, so we recommend ordering your usual size. Our sizes are shown in US sizing, and our Size Guide will help you convert.
Feet change over time, and your left and right feet are often slightly different sizes. For the best result, have both feet measured by a trained shoe fitter about once a year, and choose your size based on the larger foot.
What widths do you offer?
Many Propét styles come in standard and wide fittings. The widths available for each style are shown on its product page. Many styles also have adjustable straps, laces or hook-and-loop closures, so you can fine-tune the fit.
What do the width letters mean?
Width is shown after the size. The standard fitting is Medium, labelled M (B) for women and M (D) for men. The wide fitting is labelled W (D) for women and W (E) for men. For example, a women's size 8 in a wide fitting might appear as 8W or 8W (D).
Can I wear my own orthotics in Propét shoes?
Many Propét styles have a removable insole, which can make room for a custom orthotic. Check the product page for details, and talk to your podiatrist about which styles will suit your orthotic best.
Product features
Do you have slip-resistant shoes?
Yes. Selected Propét styles have slip-resistant outsoles, which are noted on the product page.
Are Propét shoes suitable if I have diabetes?
Many Propét styles have features often recommended for people with diabetes, such as cushioned footbeds, smooth interiors, adjustable closures and roomier fittings. Every foot is different, so we recommend speaking with your podiatrist or GP about the right footwear for you.
Care and cleaning
How do I clean my Propét shoes?
Start by brushing off any loose dirt. Mix a little mild detergent with warm water and apply it gently with a soft cloth or brush, then wipe away the excess with a clean, damp cloth. Repeat if needed. Let your shoes air dry at room temperature, away from heaters and direct sun. Don't soak your shoes in water. For leather styles, a quality leather conditioner will help keep them soft.
Can I put my shoes in the washing machine?
Only styles marked as machine washable on the product page. For those, remove the insoles first, wash on a cold, regular cycle, and air dry away from heat.

Returns and warranty
What if my shoes don't fit?
You can return or exchange your shoes within 28 days of receiving them, as long as they're unworn and in their original condition and packaging. We recommend trying them on indoors, on carpet, so they stay in new condition. See our Returns Policy for full details.
When will I get my refund?
Once your return reaches us, we'll check it and process your refund to your original payment method. Please allow six (6) business days for refunds to be processed (longer during sale periods). It may then take a few more days for your bank to show the funds.
What if my shoes are faulty?
Our products come with guarantees that can't be excluded under the Australian Consumer Law. If you think your shoes are faulty, contact us at info@sfbrands.com.au with your order number or proof of purchase and photos of the issue, and we'll help you with a repair, replacement or refund as appropriate.
